eBay launches Dream Transfer in partnership with Football Beyond Borders
This Transfer Window Season, eBay is giving football fans across the country the chance of a lifetime to sign football legends Roberto Carlos and Eni Aluko to their Sunday League teams for one unforgettable match.
The Dream Transfer means that anyone from a humble Sunday League team can throw their hat in the ring to sign a football legend on eBay for only £5, all to support Football Beyond Borders, a charity that uses football to change the lives of young people.
Dream Transfer, which is facilitated through eBay’s nonprofit arm eBay for Charity, will see Carlos and Aluko each join one winning Sunday League team at the end of the Transfer Window, and could play in any part of the country – from Devon to Dundee. Everyone’s favourite midfielder Chris Kamara will also be bringing his iconic commentary along to host the matches in February.
The youth focused charity will also feature at the checkout for all eBay customers until 30 January, where people have the opportunity to donate.
Founded in 2013, Football Beyond Borders was set up to change the lives of young people who are passionate about football. The charity works with young people who are disengaged at school, helping them finish school with the skills and grades to make a successful transition into adulthood.
Chris Gale, Head of Social Impact at eBay says: “Football Beyond Borders do fantastic work supporting young people through the power of football. eBay for Charity is all about helping fantastic charities to raise more money and reach more people through our platform, as well as shining a light on the issues that these charities are working on. We are incredibly proud to be working with them on Dream Transfer and hope that the activity will mean that many more people to hear about their work.”
