eBay appoints general manager for UK
eBay has promoted Murray Lambell to the position of general manager of its UK business.
Lambell has worked with eBay since 2008 and was previously the company’s vice president of UK trading. Prior to that, he held senior positions in business strategy and loyalty and retention at eBay Europe. His CV also includes 13 years working with British Airways.
Lambell has replaced Rob Hattrell who has now become head of eBay Europe.
Hattrell said: “It is abundantly clear to me that Murray is the natural successor to lead the eBay UK business. Not just because he has the experience, credentials, authority and drive to do so. But also because he has a proven passion for our customers, users, colleagues and industry. I am thrilled to be able to continue working alongside him and the wider UK team as I move on to my new European role, and look forward to delivering on the responsibility we have to our millions of buyers and sellers on eBay across our markets.”
The management changes follow the appointment earlier this year of eBay’s new global chief executive Jamie Iannone who is working to deliver a “tech-led reimagination” of the business.
