Homewares retailer Dunelm has appointed Ajay Kavan and Daniel Taylor as non-executive directors.
Due to take up their positions on 1 March, the pair will become members of the board’s audit and risk, remuneration and nominations committees.
Kavan was chief executive of Matches Fashion from 2020 to 2021 and has also previously worked at Amazon where he launched Amazon Fresh in Europe and Asia. He is currently a senior advisor to the global investment firm, KKR, and a member of the advisory panel to Piper Private Equity. Meanwhile, Taylor is currently the chief executive of betting and gaming company, Flutter International. Prior to this, he was the chief executive of Paddy Power Betfair. His earlier roles have included managing director of Teletext Holidays and director of strategy and commercial development at DMG Media.
Alison Brittain, chair of Dunelm, said: “I am very pleased to welcome Ajay and Dan to Dunelm. Their appointments reflect our ongoing focus on ensuring effective Board composition and complementary skill sets.
“Ajay’s experience across a range of well-known retailers strengthens our board as we continue to drive multi-channel growth across our total retail system. Dan’s experience, particularly in the delivery of digital growth strategies in consumer-facing businesses, will add further expertise and value as we continue to evolve and improve our customer proposition. I look forward to working with them both.”
