Dream Direct chair to step down

Robert Silver retires from home shopping business
Home shopping business Dream Direct has announced that chairman Robert Silver to to step down with immediate effect due to ill health.

The company, which is the UK’s leading direct retailer of family software products, said a short- list of candidates for chairman has been drawn up and discussions “are well underway”.
Jim Godfrey, currently a non-executive director, is to take on the chairman’s role on an intermin basis.
Dream Direct chief executive Robert Colquhoun said: “I would like to thank Robert Silver for the considerable and valuable contribution and support he has provided the group as chairman and to say that the Board very much regrets his premature departure from this role for health reasons. We all wish him the very best and hope for his full recovery back to health.
“We are grateful that Jim Godfrey has agreed to step into this role until a replacement has been appointed, which we will announce in due course.”
