Dixons unveils first new concept store
Electricals retailer Dixons Retail has launched the first in a series of new concept stores for its Dixons Travel brand.
The retailer said the store at Gatwick Airport’s south terminal will be the blueprint moving forward for other store designs in the Dixons Travel portfolio.
The store houses 1,100 products across 1,466 square feet of space and features state-of-the art digital signage instead of the traditional point of sale. In addition, 10-inch tablet ‘look books’ sit alongside the products to enable customers to browse for more information and offers.
Dixons has also enhanced the in-store customer experience with the addition of digital visual merchandising tables with 32-inch rear projection ‘floating screens’ over specially themed areas.
Never Miss a Retail Update! The store is the first Dixons Travel outlet to be fitted with a KNOWHOW bar, where customers can get advice on technology and repairs.
Jeremy Fennell, managing director for Dixons Travel, said: “This is the store of the future for us. We are focused on delivering a better range and store experience for Travel customers, including a focus on portable items, accessories and other flight-ready products.”
