Dixons sells B2B IT firm

Electrical retailer Dixons has disposed of its business-to-business IT company Equanet as it looks to refocus on key markets and territories.

The multi-channel retailer has sold the business to London based IT provider Kelway. The disposal includes Equanet’s  IT reseller operations in Bury and the Equanet brand name. The transaction is expected to complete later this month.

Sebastian James, chief executive of Dixons Retail, said: “The agreement to dispose of Equanet demonstrates further progress in refocusing our business on leadership positions in key markets and territories whilst at the same time, giving Equanet the opportunity to flourish in the specialist B2B market under the ownership of Kelway.”

Dixons Retail, which owns PC World and Currys,  will continue to operate its PC World Business B2B offer online and in stores.
