DFS appoints Nicola Bancroft as chief financial officer

Upholstered furniture retailer DFS has confirmed that its commercial finance director Nicola Bancroft will be appointed as chief financial officer and as an executive director from 1 August 2016.
Bancroft will replace finance director Bill Barnes who will retire from the board at the end of the financial year on 30 July. Barnes will continue as an employee of the group throughout August in order to complete a smooth handover over the year end period.
With 29 years of experience in the retail sector, Bancroft joined DFS in January 2013 from Alliance Boots where she held a series of senior finance roles including commercial finance director and retail & transformation finance director.
