Debenhams to offer free Wi-Fi in-store
Debenhams is to offer its customers free Wi-Fi in-store. The department store is partnering with O2 to roll out the service across the 167-strong chain following a successful pilot in three of its shops.
The service will be free to access for customers, regardless of their mobile phone provider, and will enable shoppers to check for sizes and availability in-store and to arrange for a garment to be home delivered if unavailable. Customers will also be able to view store layouts and access a range of discount vouchers.
O2 Wi-Fi MD Gavin Franks said: “We are delighted to add Debenhams to our growing portfolio. Debenhams has realised the power of using in-store connectivity as a basis to bring innovative services to customers.
“This marks a continuation of our fresh thinking that has seen the rapid growth of O2 Wi-Fi.”
Debenhams director Simon Foster added: “We’re seeing the shape of shopping in the future emerging right before our eyes. With over one million customers already with our app on their phones, free Wi-Fi in stores has the potential to transform how people shop.”
