Currys & PC World predict top ten tech gifts for Christmas 2014
Currys and PC World have revealed what they think will be the top ten best-selling technology products this Christmas.
Leading the list are tech wearables for health and fitness the Samsung Gear Fit and the Fitbit Force. Other products that help people track their activity include the Garmin Forerunner 15 and the new Motorola Moto 360 smartwatch.
Rupert Nichols, head of mobile computing and connectivity at Currys & PC World, said: “Customers are focusing on their health and fitness more than ever before and portable technology is very much the future as busy customers want to be able to do more things remotely and conveniently.
“We have seen a steady rise in sales of wearable technology but we expect to sell a lot more units this Christmas as everyone will want to trim up in the New Year.”
Never Miss a Retail Update!Continuing the health and fitness theme, the retailers have also predicted that the NutriBullet high speed blender and juicer will be a top ten selling product this Christmas as they revealed that Currys & PC World juicer sales are already up 143% year-on-year.
Other products in the top ten list include the GoPro action camera and the Google Chromecast streaming dongle, as well as the iPad Mini and Sonos Multi-Room System.
Laurence Mitchell, head of category for audio, imaging & games, said: “Stylish multi room audio systems like Sonos are proving extremely popular as Brits look to push their home entertainment credentials to the absolute limit. Our multi-room audio sales are up a massive 257% year on year.”
