Crafty Brits darn the VAT hole

Visits for arts & crafts equipment increased by 58%

There have been significant rises in searches for sewing equipment such as sewing machines (+302%), sewing patterns (+504%) and sewing fabric (+108%). Knitting and jewellery making have gained popularity as well, as shown by a 200% growth in searches for jewellery-making equipment and 50% for knitting yarns and needles.

Twenga’s figures confirm the trend led by knitting celebrities such as Sienna Miller and Cameron Diaz has taken hold in penny-pinching 2011.
