Crafters Companion appoints former Currys COO as CEO
Crafter’s Companion has appointed Mark Allsop as its new chief executive following an extensive search.
Prior to joining the global craft retailer, he was chief operating officer and chief digital officer at Currys where was responsible for developing and leading the omnichannel, data and technology strategy across physical and online retail. His career has also included senior roles at Merlin Entertainments, Sony Pictures and NBC Universal.
In his new position, Allsop will be responsible for driving the next phase of growth for Crafter’s Companion through its TV and ecommerce platforms.
He has succeeded Simon Davies who is remaining with the business as executive director with responsibility for its global wholesale teams and commercial partnerships.
Founded by Dragons’ Den star Sara Davies in 2005, Crafters Companion supplies its products directly to consumers online and through its retail stores, as well as via its trade, wholesale and TV shopping partners.
Davies said: “The search for a new CEO was an extensive one. We needed somebody who completely understood our company and its values but also someone who has the tenacity and drive to support us in achieving our full potential. In Mark, I believe we have found the perfect fit.”
