Cotswold Outdoor sales up 14% in 2012
Cotswold Outdoor saw a 14% increase in sales in 2012 compared to the previous year.
The outdoor retailer saw “robust” like-for like increases during the year, with sales reaching a milestone of £100 million by Christmas Eve helped by a busy pre-Christmas sales period.
December was a particularly strong month for the retailer with double digit like-for-like growth as sales benefited from the launch of a multi-channel offering in the second half of 2012. The retailer said its Click and Collect service also helped drive trade.
Hans Falkenburg, chief executive said: “Cotswold Outdoor has worked hard to build itself up from quite literally two men in a shed in 1974 to the national multi-channel retailer we are today. We’ve had an outstanding 2012 and have now hit the £100 million mark in a year of recession. We’re looking forward to further success ahead of our fortieth anniversary next year.”
