Costcutter sales up 4%
Costcutter has reported a 4% rise in sales in the first six months of 2012 as the convenience retailer recruited more than 100 independent retailers in the period.
The group said 112 new retailers joined the group and that an additional 41 would join “imminently”. It also opened six new Kwiksave stores and plans to open 20 by Christmas.
In addition, Costcutter launched three new formats in the period including myCostcutter, a new Kwiksave fascia and a trial of the Rhythmn and Booze off licence franchise which Costcutter bought out of administration in March.
Nick Ivel, chief executive, said: “Despite continuing to operate in a tough economy Costcutter Supermarkets Group has continued its year-on-year growth. These latest performance figures underline the excellent work being done by our retailers and everyone within the business.”
