Costa Coffee launches TV ad campaign
Costa Coffee has launched a new TV advertising campaign.
The one minute advert created by Karmarama features people, including real life Costa baristas, buried up to their necks in coffee beans while singing along to a cover of ‘I Was Made For Loving You’ by Kiss. The advert ends with the strapline: “At Costa we put our heart and soul into everything we do. You can feel it in every cup.”
The TV advertising is being supported by print and in-store campaigns, as well by a Facebook App which enables fans to record and upload videos of themselves singing along to the song. The best entry will be used in a future version of the advert.
Kevin Hydes, Costa Retail marketing director, explained: “Until now, our fans could only tell us how much they love Costa by posting messages on Facebook. Now they can show us—by singing at the top of their lungs to one of the greatest rock songs ever. On a more serious note, the idea of this is that by putting Costa fans together with our baristas, it playfully makes the point that they really are the stars and it’s only right they feature in our TV ad. It’s all about showing that our baristas put their heart into everything they do, and we hope our customers feel the love in every cup.”
Sam Walker, creative director at Karmarama added: “We’re putting baristas at the heart of the action, their passion for coffee as well as their willingness to be buried up to their necks in coffee beans was awesome.”
