Conran Shop has new creative director

Stephen Briars has been appointed to the position of creative director of Conran Retail & Brand Holdings, the parent company of The Conran Shop.

In his new role, he will lead all creative functions of The Conran Shop brand globally. This will include all creative touchpoints, on and offline aesthetics, visual merchandising, graphics, marketing and PR, events, social media and store design.

Briars was previously European creative director at Urban Outfittrers where he oversaw the opening of thirty stores and the elevation of the creative content and experience.

Prior to that, he worked as director of visual merchandising at Louis Vuitton where he curated the brand’s window concepts and implemented the delivery of in-store experience in more than 400 stores worldwide.

Other previous roles include working at Paul Smith as visual merchandising manager.

Hugh Wahla, chief executive, said: “I’m very excited to welcome Stephen aboard The Conran Shop to help forge a new era for the brand. Knowing the outstanding job that Stephen did in helping me to roll out the Urban Outfitters concept in Europe and beyond, combined with his outstanding global experience at both Louis Vuitton and Paul Smith, I feel extremely confident about what he’ll enable us to deliver for the future.”
