Co-operative trials bulk buying on website

The Co-operative Group is piloting the sale of bulk-buy household cleaning items on its Co-operative Electrical website.

The retailer features 36 leading brands on the site including Bold, Fairy Liquid, Ariel and Daz. All products are offered with free delivery and purchasers are given a £5 discount on orders over £40.

Each product shows the normal price as well as the savings made by buying in bulk. Savings range from £1.78 on the purhase of two packs of Daz Regular Powder (50 washes) to £16 on two packs of Fairy Lemon Dishwasher Pouches (62 uses).

The move follows research by the Co-op earlier this year which revealed that the number of shoppers who buy in bulk is set to rise by 20% this year.
