Co-operative hires new group secretary

The Co-operative Group has appointed Claire Davies as its new group secretary following the retirement of Moira Lees this month.
Davies, who is a solicitor with more than 27 years experience, was most recently company secretary at Lloyds Banking Group. Prior to Lloyds, she held a variety of legal, compliance and company secretarial roles at Ernst & Young, The Woolwich and Legal & General.
Group general counsel Alistair Asher said: “I’m delighted to welcome Claire to the Group. I know she will be a great addition to the senior team, especially as we work our way through the crucial Governance Review that the Board is undertaking.“
Davies will take up her new role in early March and will report to group chair Ursula Lidbetter.
