Co-operative Group scoops two business charity awards

The Co-operative Group has scooped two awards at a national ceremony that recognises outstanding contributions by businesses to charities and good causes.

At the Third Sector Business Charity Awards, the Co-operative Group was recognised for its partnership with Carers Trust after staff, members and customers raised £6 million for the charity which supports unpaid young adult carers.

Completing the double, The Co-operative Legal Services topped the “Charity Partnership – Financial and Professional” category after teaming-up with Remember a Charity to encourage more people to leave a gift to charity in their will.

Nick Folland, chief external affairs officer at The Co-operative Group, said: “We are thrilled. The awards illustrate the incredible contribution of The Co-operative’s colleagues, members and customers to changing lives, communities and society for the better.”

Never Miss a Retail Update!

Matt Howells, managing director of The Co-operative Legal Services, added: “This is an exciting partnership and we are delighted to receive such external recognition as we work to develop our will writing services.

“Making it easier to leave a charitable gift is not only raising much needed money for good causes but also has a very positive emotional impact on customers.”
