Co-operative Food launches nostalgic Easter advertising campaign
The Co-operative Food has launched a nostalgic Easter TV advertising campaign that focuses on a child being sent to a Co-op store on an errand.
The campaign, created by Leo Burnett London, shows a boy going to the shops on an Easter errand for his Mum. After a short bike ride, he arrives at the local Co-op to find a girl exiting the shop, also on an errand.
Screened for the first time yesterday, the advert will be shown up until Easter, with a second version launching after Easter for the school holidays.
Research commissioned by the Co-operative shows that today’s youngsters are allowed to go to the local shop unaccompanied 19 months later than their grandparents did.
Freda Cronk, head of marketing communications at the Co-operative Food, said: “Youngsters today may have more toys, sport and leisure items than their grandparents but they have to wait until they are older to experience the same levels of independence.
”However, tasks like going to the local shop alone are still important for children and can often help create lifetime memories.”
