Co-op launches online pharmacy service

The Co-operative Pharmacy has launched a new website offering customers access to medical diagnosis and treatment online.

Customers will be able to get advice on range of conditions via a remote consultation and receive recommendations for treatment. The online doctor service is being provided in conjunction with theclinic.com.

The site will also feature an NHS Direct symptom checker and an online health assessment where a series of tests will monitor any potential risks and suggest lifestyle changes to help to help improve health and wellbeing.

Dr Sean Cummings, clinical lead for the medical services provided by The-Clinic.com, said: “The-Clinic.com and The Co-operative Pharmacy recognise that there may be occasions when a patient would prefer to be able to manage certain aspects of their healthcare at a time and place that is most appropriate for them. The online doctor offers this choice and we are pleased to be working a trusted business like The Co-operative Pharmacy to offer this service.”

The site will also offer a of premium health and beauty brands, medical electrical items, pet medicines and independent living aids, as well as the facility to book appointments for biometric health testing at Co-op Pharmacy branches.

Mandeep Mudhar, head of business development at The Co-operative Pharmacy added: “The health of customers and their families is extremely important to us and with our new online offering we will be giving our customers greater support in managing their own health.  We are delighted to be able to extend our service and product offering to give people greater convenience and more choice.”
