Clinton Cards greets sales increase

Christmas performance builds on growth
January 15 2004
Clinton Cards saw total sales in the five weeks to Christmas Eve increase by 9.6 per cent as UK consumers stocked up on cards and seasonal gifts.

The UK’s largest specialist greetings card retailer saw like-for-like sales across the five weeks to increase by 2.3 per cent, building on a particularly strong increase last year.
Clinton, which operates around 700 stores along with concession in Debenhams department stores, said its sales growth was achieved without resorting to discounting or a pre-Christmas sale.
