Clinton Cards appoints first marketing director

Clinton Cards has appointed Tim Fairs, the former head of marketing for Dixons Retail, as its first ever marketing director.

He will be responsible for developing a brand personality for the greeting card retailer and will also drive online sales and oversee customer insight and promotional strategies.

Fairs joins Clinton from Dixons Retail where he was head of marketing. He also held the same role at Virgin Retail where he relaunched the Virgin brand and introduced the company’s first loyalty scheme.

Last month, Clinton announced that Don Lewin was to stand down from the roles of chairman and chief executive to become Life President instead. Starbucks UK managing director Darcy Willson-Rymer will succeed him as CEO in October and is the first CEO outside of the Clinton family to hold this position.

Clinton Cards is the largest retailer of greeting cards in the UK with 650 stores nationwide.
