Clarks opens new concept store at Centre:mk

Footwear brand Clarks has launched a newly refurbished 346 square metre store at Centre:mk in Milton Keynes.

The shop is one of only a handful of stores in the UK to feature the new concept ‘C & J Clark Limited’ branding following a global trial which included only four UK stores.

Simon Jones, head of retail sales at Clarks, said: “At Clarks we continually strive to deliver a great in store experience, not only with our renowned customer service, but also through creating a fresh and exciting store environment.

“With this in mind, we have a programme to re-fit a number of our stores using our latest shop-fit design to create a more consistent and enhanced shopping experience. The new store design will allow us to showcase our stylish range of footwear in our latest premium, yet welcoming, format.”

The news follows an increase in footwear sales of 7.8% at Centre:mk during February compared to the  same time last year.

Speaking on behalf of Centre:mk’s joint owners Hermes Real Estate and AustralianSuper, Ed Sellick said: “The store has been performing extremely well and is a prime example of brands choosing to invest and grow at Centre:mk.”

C&J Clarks Limited joins Ernest Jones and Fraser Hart which have both recently refurbished their stores at Centre:mk. In addition, Cath Kidston, The White Company and Jigsaw have all opened regional flagships at Centre:mk in the last six months.
