Tim Parker, chief executive of shoe retailer and manufacturer Clarks, is to take up a similar role ar car repair chain Kwik-Fit.
Parker will take over at Kwik-Fit when the sale by Ford to private equity firm CVC is complete. Parker joined the previously family run shoe company in 1995. He carried out an extensive restructuring of the business, which has raised profits considerably.
He said earlier this year, that the reorganisation of Clarks was almost complete. However, the decision has been made not to float the company. Before Clarks, Parker ran Kenwood Appliances, which was floated during his time at the helm.
