Charles Tyrwhitt to open first store in Scotland
Luxury shirt retailer Charles Tyrwhitt is to open its first store north of the border. The company has agreed terms on a store at 52 George Street in Edinburgh which is currently occupied by The White Company.
The new store is expected to open in September and the lease will run until 2022.
Stuart Moncur, head of retail for Cushman & Wakefield in Scotland, who advised Charles Tyrwhitt, said: “Charles Tyrwhitt likes to locate its stores in strong fashion destinations like Jermyn Street in London and Madison Avenue in New York, therefore George Street was the obvious place for its first Scottish store.
“George Street continues to be the location of choice for many fashion retailers in Edinburgh and we anticipate further new arrivals over the coming months.”
Founded in 1986, Charles Tyrwhitt has 13 stores in the UK including its flagship store in Jermyn Street, and three stores in New York and Paris. The company employs over 300 staff.
