Busted to switch on Regent Street lights
Boy band joins 50-year Christmas roll call
Chart topping boy band Busted will add their names to a 50-year celebrity roll call by switching on the Regent Street Christmas at a free outdoor event on November 7.
Marking 50 years of Christmas lights on Regent Street, Busted will perform three live numbers before switching on the Christmas lights as the centrepiece of what is expected to be the festive season’s biggest street party.
Regent Street will be closed to traffic for the afternoon of Sunday November 7, and will feature a programme of entertainment and music, climaxing in the free performance. The show will be staged at the junction of New Burlington Street and Regent Street and will kick off at 5.15pm, followed by the switch-on of the lights at 5.30pm.
Busted released their debut single in September 2002 and now have five number one’s, two triple platinum albums and two sell out UK arena tours. The band joins a roll call of stars who have switched on the lights which includes Will Young, Daniel Bedingfield, Kylie, Royalty and movie stars.
To mark 50 years of Christmas lights, Regent Street is working in partnership with Disney/ Pixar and has created a truly ‘Incredible’ set of lights themed to this year’s most anticipated movie, ‘The Incredibles’.
