Broughton Shopping Park signs up Primark and M&S

The Broughton Shopping Park near Chester has announced a raft of new signings.

Hercules Unit Trust, the specialist retail park fund advised by British Land and managed by Schroders, has completed leases with Primark and Marks & Spencer.

Primark has taken 39,100 square feet spread over two floors in the former BHS unit while Marks & Spencer will open an 11,000 square foot food store. Both stores are scheduled to open later in the year.

Other new signings include Specsavers and Card Factory while existing retailers, Outfit and WH Smith, have both committed to a further ten years at the shopping park.

The new lettings follow the recent opening of a £13 million leisure extension at the park comprising an 11-screen Cineworld IMAX cinema and new restaurants including Frankie & Benny’s, Pizza Express, Chiquito, Prezzo and Nando’s.

Over the course of the next 18 months, HUT will be investing a further £15 million in a refurbishment programme at Broughton. The refurbishment will include the installation of double height shop fronts, enhanced public realm and customer facilities, wider walkways and improved pedestrian linkages across the park.
