Broadway Bradford signs up nine new retailers

Nine retailers have signed up to take space at the new The Broadway shopping centre in Bradford.

Fashion and footwear retailer Footasylum, luxury baker Patisserie Valerie and toy retailer The Entertainer have all confirmed that they will open their first stores in Bradford at The Broadway.

In more firsts for Bradford, they will be joined by food retailers Taco Bell, Wrap Chic and Spud U Like, meaning together with new signing Subway, the centre’s food court is now fully let.

Other new signings for the Westfield operated centre include Thomson and Holland & Barrett.

Keith Mabbett, director of leasing at Westfield, said: “These new retailers are another fantastic step forward for The Broadway and we’re thrilled to welcome them all. Each brings something different to the centre and we know they’ll provide local people with more shopping choice.

“We have built up fantastic momentum in terms of securing retailers, and there are many more great names to come in the next few months.”

Due to open in autumn 2015, The Broadway will create 2,500 new retail jobs on opening. Over 70% of the centre’s floor space is now let and the city is expecting a 40% increase in footfall once the centre opens.

Leader of Bradford Council Cllr David Green said: “I think the progress has been great with these new retailers coming into Bradford City Centre. We are now seeing a spin-off with the Growth Zone successes, which I hope will continue.”
