British Land appoints Alice Keown as asset manager for food & beverage

Shopping centre operator British Land has appointed Alice Keown as asset manager for its food and beverage offering.

Keown has joined the business from Davis Coffer Lyons’ London estate and development team where her clients included Westfield, The Crown Estate, Land Securities and Gatwick Airport, as well as British Land. During her time at DCL she worked on high profile development projects such as Westfield London, Westfield Stratford, Westgate Oxford, and British Land’s Meadowhall, Broadgate and Whiteley Shopping.

Prior to DCL, Keown held senior positions at both World Duty Free and BAA. These included senior food and beverage account manager at BAA where she oversaw the restaurant tenant mix across seven UK airports. She was also responsible for the curation of the Heathrow Terminal 5 restaurant strategy including the signing of restaurant operators, as well as sales and income targets.

Over the past two years British Land has increased its food and beverage space from 6% to 8% of the multi-let portfolio to increase dwell time and average spend. Food and beverage now represents one million square feet of British Land’s multi-let assets.

Charles Maudsley, head of retail and leisure at British Land, said: “As we continue to respond to evolving shopper trends and strengthen our F&B offer across our assets, we recognise the importance of introducing an expert like Alice into the team. We have worked with Alice for a number of years and are delighted to welcome her to British Land as we develop our F&B offer further.”
