Bridgepoint to acquire RoC Skincare
Bridgepoint is to acquire a majority shareholding in RoC Skincare from the brand’s existing backer, Gryphon Investors.
Financial terms have not been disclosed.
Founded in Paris in 1957 by Dr. Jean-Charles Lissarrague, RoC is a pioneer brand of the dermo-cosmetic world and has a track record of industry-first innovations. It was acquired by Gryphon Investors from Johnson & Johnson in 2020 and since then has grown its revenue by 70%.
With the brand positioned as a clinically proven specialist for ageing skin conditions, Bridgepoint said it will support RoC in accelerating its growth in its European markets, particularly in France. RoC will also benefit from Bridgepoint’s strong European presence and expertise in the dermatology sector.
Fernando Acosta, chief executive of RoC Skincare, said: “With Bridgepoint’s deep expertise in the dermatology sector and its strong European presence, RoC is poised to capitalise on the promising growth opportunities that lie ahead.”
Fabrice Turcq, partner at Bridgepoint, added: “Under Fernando’s leadership, RoC has become an impressive standalone business with a rich European heritage and dermatology expertise. With Bridgepoint’s support, RoC is poised to accelerate growth in Europe and beyond, strengthen its online presence and expand its product offering.”
The transaction is expected to close in February.
