Braehead appoints new centre director
The Braehead shopping destination in Glasgow has promoted Ashley Bisland to the position of centre director.
The scheme is owned by property company SGS and managed by Global Mutual in conjunction with Savills as property managers. Covering 1.1 million square feet, brands include the likes of M&S, Apple, Primark, TK Maxx and Next.
Bisland joined the Braehead team in December 2022 as deputy centre director after nearly 12 years at Savills. She has been successfully managing Braehead since February 2024 and has a proven track record in placemaking, destination marketing and guest experiences.
Rachel Scott, asset manager at Global Mutual, said: “We are delighted to announce Ashley’s appointment as centre director. She has been an invaluable member of the team over the last two years and is passionate about Braehead’s success.
“Ashley understands the changing face of retail, the importance of building strong brand relationships and how to provide the best possible shopper experience.”
Saagar Sachdev, director at Savills, added: “Ashley’s appointment comes at a great time. Braehead has had a solid start to the year – with a number of leasing deals announced and more in the pipeline – reflecting the strength of demand for prime retail and leisure space. We look forward to working with Ashley to build on this momentum in the months ahead.”
