Boots launches first evening meal range with Shapers

Boots is expanding its food offering by launching its first range of healthy evening meals under the Shapers brand.

Launched today in 100 Boots stores in London and at key commuter sites across the UK, the range follows the same format as Shapers’ lunchtime offering where customers can choose a main meal and accompaniment or dessert for 500 calories or less. 

The evening Shapers selection includes 25 new options with main meals including dishes such as Chicken Tikka Masala, Broccoli and Cauliflower Cheese and Green Thai Chicken Curry. There are also two salad options and a range of desserts including fresh fruit jellies.  

Alex Gourlay, chief executive, Health & Beauty Division, Alliance Boots, explained:  “With over 30 years’ experience in the convenient healthy food arena Boots UK is well-positioned to offer a convenient, healthy evening meals range.  We know our customers want to feel good about what they eat and do not want to compromise between to eating healthily or conveniently.

“The new range is a positive step towards addressing that compromise and achieving our overall mission for the Shapers brand of championing everyone’s right to feel good about what they eat every day, for every meal occasion.”

Prices start at £1.35 for desserts and range to £3.25 for ready meal options, with launch price promotions such as two for £2 and two for £5. All main meals will be available at an introductory price of two for £5 until the end of April. 

The launch will be supported by a PR campaign as well as in-store promotion including window materials and chiller headers.
