Booths appoints chief executive
Booths, the northern based food and drink retailer, has appointed Chris Dee as chief executive.
The appointment comes as Booths embarks on the biggest expansion programme in its history with the opening of five new stores during the course of a year.
Dee has taken on the top job after 20 years at Booths during which time he has held the roles of wines & spirits buyer, trading director, and chief operating officer.
In a separate appointment, Mike Thomson has joined the Booths operating board as estates director. Thomson has worked with Booths since 2004.
Meanwhile, supply chain director Simon Booth and property director Graham Booth will both leave the operational board this year, but will remain on the Booths family board. Edwin Booth will remain as chairman of both the operational and family boards.
Edwin Booth said: “I have tremendous confidence in Chris Dee to continue to grow and develop the business. He has the vision, and crucially, the ability to share that vision and inspire others to follow him. Mike Thomson brings considerable skill and experience in construction and engineering at a critical time in Booths development. These two appointments put us into an excellent position to widen the appeal of the Booths brand.”
