Boohoo appoints non-exec director
Online fashion retailer Boohoo has appointed Sara Murray as a non-executive director.
Having started, grown and sold three technology companies, Murray’s first business, Ninah Consulting, a management consultancy specialising in pharmaceutical, retail and financial services strategy, was sold to Publicis Groupe subsidiary ZenithOptimedia in 2003.
Murray also founded and built Inspop, the owner of online insurance marketplace Confused.com, which was bought by Admiral Group in 2002. In addition, she founded health and location monitoring technology business iBuddi in 2005.
She is currently an executive committee/PLC directors’ advisor to Wickes owner Travis Perkins.
Peter Williams, Boohoo non-executive chairman, said: “I am delighted to welcome Sara to the company. Her experience in founding and developing successful technology businesses will be a great asset to the board. Sara’s entrepreneurial spirit perfectly reflects Boohoo’s culture and growth ambitions and we very much look forward to working with her.”
