Positive trend continues for health & beauty retailer
Body Shop has continued to see sales growth across most of its core markets.

In a statement to shareholders at the health & beauty retailer’s annual meeting, Body Shop reported total retail sales up by 8 per cent across the three months to the end of May. The total sales figure includes stores, the Body Shop At Home direct sales operation, mail order and the internet.
Comparable store sales grew by 5 per cent across the quarter, while sales through the Body Shop At Home grew by 12 per cent.
In the UK, first quarter comparable store sales grew by 7 per cent, while the European, Middle East and Africa region saw a 7 per cent increase thanks to strong performances in the Middle East, the Nordic countries and France, Spain and Germany.

Peter Saunders, chief executive, said: “Our investment programme in the global implementation of SAP has made significant progress over recent weeks. The third and most crucial module, incorporating the warehouse and financial information systems, was successfully introduced at the end of the first quarter and is now transitioning to full operation.”
