Blacks Leisure appoints interim finance director

Outdoor retailer Blacks Leisure has announced the appointment of Dominic Lavelle as its interim finance director. He will work alongside outgoing finance director Marc Lombardo until his departure in December.

Lavelle has extensive retail experience having held finance director roles at Allders, Oasis and Laura Ashley.

He has also worked on a number of turnaround projects, most recently at Findel plc and previously at Gladedale Group.

Last week the Blacks reported a pre-tax loss of £16 million in the six months to 27 August, compared to a £7.2 million loss the previous year.

New chief executive Julia Reynolds is conducting  a strategic review of the business, the recommendations of which will be revealed later this year.
