Betta Living reports strong sales

Betta Living, the fitted kitchen, bedroom and bathroom retailer, saw its sales surge by 61% year-on-year during its key Boxing Day and January trading period.

The results follow a strong year for the retailer whose year-end results in November showed a 23% increase in turnover to £39 million.

During 2013 Betta Living opened two new stores and now operates from 33 retail locations. The retailer has also invested in its online presence which has helped online sales to rise by 26% within the past 12 months. A deal with Next to become its partner supplier on fitted kitchens further boosted sales in 2013 and led to Betta Living installing more than 85 kitchen displays in Next stores across the UK.

Chairman Noel Dean said: “We’ve invested heavily again this year, from new stores and store refurbishments to introducing a whole new bathroom product offer. It’s been supported by a myriad of marketing activity throughout the year that has helped to increase the all-important leads into the business. Our bricks and clicks model continues to work well for the business and we plan to continue to invest in both channels.”

Founded in 1966, Betta Living operates from headquarters in Oldham. The retailer has recently expanded by opening a new sales and marketing centre and a 160,000 ft logistics centre in the city. A new national training centre is scheduled to open May 2014.
