Benetton sees sales fall

Full year revenue dip for fashion retailer
Benetton has reported a 9 per cent fall in revenue for 2004, down to €1.69bn from €1.86bn in 2003.,

Sales of the Italy-based retailer’s clothing lines, which account for 90 per cent of sales, fell 4.75 per cent to €1.50bn.
Results were also hit the decision to sell off of its underperforming sports equipment business during the year.
Benetton operates more than 5,000 franchised stores in 120 countries under United Colors of Benetton and Sisley brands.
