Benetton increases digital focus with launch of new apps
International clothing brand Benetton is rolling out a range of apps for different mobile devices as part of its continuing focus on digital media.
In a first for the company, the apps will enable customers to view the brand’s latest fashion collections on iPhone, iPad, Android, and Blackberry. The collections will include the first range from newly-appointed creative director You Nguyen which has just been shown at Milan Fashion week and goes on sale later this year.
In total there are 13 new apps which are specific to the group brands United Colors of Benetton, Sisley, and Playlife.
Benetton said the fashion, music and sharing apps will help the group to increase its global interaction, and build on previous social network activities which have helped Benetton to register more than 500 million contacts and increase the number of Facebook fans by 60%.
