BCSC to undertake research on future of retail logistics
The British Council of Shopping Centres has commissioned a research project that will look at future trends in retail logistics.
Working with logistics and supply chain specialist The Logistics Business, the BCSC will give particular consideration to the effect of multi-channel retailing on logistics.
The research will also look at stock flow and how it is managed in retail destinations, as well as changes to transport, technology and how this will impact the industry.
Davinder Jhamat, head of research at the BCSC, said: “In our partnership with TLB we will get a true understanding of how multi-channel retailing will affect the supply chain. With retailers holding less stock in store, it is essential for the future strength of the industry, that we understand effective and sustainable delivery of goods to retail destinations.”
Never Miss a Retail Update! With the research due to be completed by the end of the year, the report’s findings will be shared with delegates at a conference to be held in early 2015.
