Bargain Booze names Ian Jones as non-exec director

Conviviality Retail, the owner of the Bargain Booze chain, has appointed former Homebase director Ian Jones as a non-executive director.

Having spent over 30 years in the retail sector, Jones was Homebase retail director for nine years during which time he was responsible for 340 stores and took a central role in repositioning the brand to a home enhancement retailer.

Prior to that, he served on the operating board of Sainsbury’s and was formats director at the supermarket from 2001 to 2003.

At Conviviality, Jones will chair the remuneration committee after being involved with the company since 2013 when he advised the board on supply chain and operational matters.

David Adams, chairman of Conviviality, said: “I am delighted to welcome Ian to our board as non-executive director. His wider knowledge of the UK retail sector and invaluable past experience will make him a true asset to our board as we continue to grow our brands across the UK.”
