Barbour opens first Barbour International store
Barbour has opened the first standalone store for its Barbour International sub-brand.
The company has launched a 3,000 sq ft store in central London’s St James’s Gateway which is situated between Piccadilly and Jermyn Street.
The store, which spans two floors, sells the brand’s country style clothing together with its biker style International ranges.
Barbour national sales and marketing director Ian Beattie said: “Motorcycle clothing first appeared in Barbour brochures in the early 1900s and is just as important to Barbour’s heritage as country clothing. With this new dedicated store we will be able to showcase our fashion collections inspired by the halcyon days of motorcycling.”
Last year Barbour increased its sales by 12% to £136.9 million and saw its pre-tax profits rise 42% to £24.3 million. Earlier this year, Barbour received a £549,000 award from the government’s Regional Growth Fund which enabled the company to create 130 new jobs.
