Ayr Central signs up New Look and Ernest Jones

M&G Real Estate has signed up New Look and Ernest Jones to its Ayr Central shopping centre in Scotland.

New Look is taking an 11,100 square foot unit on a 15 year lease while Ernest Jones will occupy a 1,100 square foot store on a five year lease.

Both retailers will be relocating to Ayr Central from their existing locations elsewhere in Ayr.

In addition, existing tenant HMV has signed to upsize to a 5,800 square foot store.

Having opened in 2006, the 178,145 square foot shopping centre was bought by M&G Real Estate in 2015 and is anchored by Debenhams and Primark. Other tenents include Top Shop, Top Man, Next, H&M, River Island, JD Sports, Clarks and Costa.

Chris Poole, asset manager at M&G Real Estate, said: “Bringing New Look and Ernest Jones to Ayr Central reinforces the centre’s reputation as the town’s prime retail location. Ayr Central enjoys very loyal customers, and a high volume of tourists and students, and has become a key requirement for brands seeking expansion in the South of Scotland. We anticipate further commitment from new and existing brands in 2016.”
