Avon appoints new general manager for UK & Ireland

Avon Cosmetics has appointed Scott Schlackman as its new general manager for Avon UK & Republic of Ireland.

Schlackman, who has worked with Avon for over 24 years, succeeds Anna Segatti who has assumed a new role as senior vice president of Avon Western Europe, Middle East and Africa. He has held a number of general manager positions within Avon  including leadership of France, Canada, Greece and Continental Europe. Prior to taking on the role in the UK, he held the position of vice president of Liz Earle, which Avon acquired in March 2010.

Commenting on his appointment Schlackman said: “The UK & ROI is an important region for Avon.  As one of the top markets out of the 100-plus we operate in, its performance is key for the organisation. I look forward to starting the next era for Avon UK & ROI and continuing to grow its dynamic profile.”

This year, Avon is celebrating its 125th anniversary. Now operating in over 100 countries, the company claims to sell four lipsticks every second of the day.

In its second quarter of 2011, Avon reported a 9% rise in total revenues to $2.9 billion.
