ATCM partners with Crimestoppers to fight crime across the UK
The Association of Town & City Management has joined forces with crime-fighting charity Crimestoppers as part of its efforts to help crack down on crime and anti-social behaviour in town centres.
The partnership is of particular significance as Crimestoppers, which enables members of the public to pass on information about crime anonymously, is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.
ATCM runs the Purple Flag Accreditation Scheme which recognises excellence in the management of town and city centres at night. Since its launch in 2003, 42 towns and cities in the UK and Ireland have been awarded Purple Flags and the organisation now aims to have 50 accredited centres by the end of 2013.
