Association of Town & City Management names new chief executive

The Association of Town & City Management has appointed Shanaaz Carroll as its new permanent chief executive.

She will take up the position immediately after working in the role in an acting position for the last eighteen months and working with the organisation for over four years.

ATCM chairman Alexander Nicoll said: “Shanaaz has demonstrated her qualifications for the role after participating in an advertised and open selection process. She has a sure grasp of issues of concern to all involved in the diverse world of place management covering, as it now does, partnerships and organisations with broad reach across public, private and third sectors.

“Under our banner Helping People Make Great Places I am confident that ATCM can build on its strengths under Shanaaz’s leadership as chief executive.”

Carroll joined ATCM in February 2012 and was promoted to the role of deputy chief executive in April 2013.
