ASOS to enable customers to select exact one hour delivery slots on day of choosing
ASOS is to launch a new delivery service that allows customers to say exactly when they would like their parcels to be delivered.
Working in partnership with delivery firm DPD, ASOS is introducing the ‘Precise’ service to enable customers to select their own, exact one-hour delivery slot on the day of their choosing.
Matt Rogers from ASOS said: “Precise is another first for ASOS and a huge leap forward on our customer focused delivery proposition. Our customers love getting their deliveries quickly and tell us they want control and choice over how and when their parcels arrive. Precise gives them exactly that.”
Currently ASOS customers are notified by text or email of their next day, one-hour delivery slot by DPD. With Precise they will be able to choose to accept the original delivery slot via the notification, or select their preferred delivery day and their specific one hour delivery slot via DPD’s ‘in-flight’ options. Precise deliveries can be arranged for anytime in the following seven days between 11am and 5pm.
DPD’s chief executive Dwain McDonald added: “I think Precise gives ASOS a real advantage at a time when all retailers are looking to innovate in the delivery space and wow customers.”
In May, DPD launched the Your DPD app which enables customers to set their own delivery preferences including the ability to request that drivers always avoid certain times of the day, such as the school run. Using new smartphone geo-location based technology, Your DPD can also automatically alert the DPD driver when an app user returns home.
