ASOS sales accelerate
Online fashion retailer ASOS grew its retail sales by 22% in the four months to 31 December after achieving record sales over November’s cyber weekend.
UK retail sales climbed by 25% in the period while international sales rose by 20%.
International sales accounted for 54% of the total compared to 55% in the previous year.
Nick Beighton, ASOS chief executive, said: “We have traded well through peak and are continuing to invest in the future growth of the business. We are on track with our plans for the year as a whole.
“We had record sales over cyber weekend in late November and have seen further growth in average order frequency, average basket value and number of orders, alongside an acceleration in active customer growth to +18%.”
ASOS said it is making good progress with its warehouse and technology investments and in December began construction on its EuroHub 2 facility.
