Asos recruits in Birmingham to fuel global growth plans
Online fashion retailer Asos is recruiting for 20 senior positions in Birmingham as it opens its first regional office outside of the South East.
Asos said the number of roles in the city could rise to around 50 over the next 12 months with new staff focusing on creating new company websites tailored to growth markets in countries such as France and Germany.
The news comes less than a fortnight after Asos posted strong trading results for the three months to 28 February 2013. Retail sales were up 37% year-on-year, resulting in first half retail sales growth of 34% to £352 million.
Asos said that the Birmingham office would play a key role in its international expansion plans.

The office will be situated in the the Digbeth area of Birmingham and is set to open at the end of April. The new roles will include senior software and database engineers, quality assurance analysts and development team leaders.
