Asos forges Amazon link

Online clothing retailer reports strong sales growth
Expanding internet Online fashion retailer Asos is to sell its range through Amazon.com.

Asos will have ‘preferred apparel partner’ status with Amazon by Christmas, one of a range of initiatives which will also see the company become on-line retailer for the Miss Sixty brand, and replace Boden as online bank Egg’s exclusive apparel partner,
In an AGM statement, Asos reported sales growth of 86 per cent in first five months of the current financial year, with 369,000 registered users at the end of August.
Chief executive Nick Robertson said: “This is a good performance and partly reflects the positive contribution to sales of our new buyers and departments.
“The planned expansion of the buying team is now complete with the appointment of a beauty category manager from Superdrug and a footwear buyer from Miss Selfridge. Both will be on-board before the all important Christmas trading period.
He added: “We remain very confident about the outlook for this year and believe the business to be in excellent shape as we gear up for Christmas.”
